In case you’re wondering that was exactly 7 years and 25 days ago.


Many of the posts over the last 20 or so months have been about The Pandemic.

So, I note here another staggering and tragic milestone passed earlier this week:

By now, Covid-19 has become the third leading cause of death among Americans 65 and older, after heart disease and cancer. It is responsible for about 13 percent of all deaths in that age group since the beginning of 2020, more than diabetes, accidents, Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

This ceremony, on the eve of President Biden’s Inauguration, feels particularly important to recall as about 400,000 more Americans have died of COVID since this was held:
