You might think that my posting of this photo shows that I am going nuts. And maybe I am – after 172 days of this Pandemic Period (and counting)

Three reasons why this I’m choosing this as the Photo O’ Tuesday the 1st of September:

Reason #1 – I’m teaching mostly in the basement where three art rooms and the real, old-school wood-shop are located. And the guy who made this out of wood must have learned his craft somewhere.

Reason #2 – It’s from the other side of Columbus from where I live. So, theoretically I could get into my car and drive over to see it for myself.

Reason #3 – It makes me laugh (or a least crack a big smile.) I was reminded of the value of laughter today during lunch with a couple of my new Theology colleagues as we talked about (and laughed about) comedies from the 1980’s – especially this classic scene from one of my favorite films of that era:

OK – so in this age of unrest and violence I know this doesn’t translate well. Plus, if you don’t know the context here, the scene loses much. Still, this made me bust up today at lunch way more than a “nut bar” for squirrels ever could.
