READING! “My” for Monday, June 8th

Another Monday. And it’s been two weeks since George Floyd was killed when a police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes while three other cops watched.

I don’t like starting in this manner, but I believe it bears repeating again and again.

It’s the catalyst for the “enormous scale” of this uprising – which shows no signs of slowing – and a sicking reminder of the brutality which happens with shameful frequency against black people THAT ISN’T FILMED and made “viral”

And today, as I type this, George Floyd (1974-2020) 46 years old is being laid to rest next to his momma – who he cried out for as the life was crushed from him.
