If you’re a NY Yankees fan (I am NOT,) we remember Babe Ruth today because:

In 1946, after experiencing severe eye pain and difficulty swallowing, Babe Ruth was diagnosed with cancer.  

On April 27, 1947, he was able to attend the proclaimed Babe Ruth Day and spoke briefly to a crowd of almost 60,000 people at Yankee Stadium.

It’s also National Tell a Story Day. Here’s some hints about how to be a good story-teller:

Finally the always vivid daily image over at Bing’s homepage tells us that today is World Tapir Day.

I download the Bing image almost every day and make it my desktop background. Today, I’m going to pass on doing that.
