Lectionary Readings – Third Sunday of Advent – December 13, 2015

Since this is an Advent week with a different theme, I thought I’d change this up. Besides the color change of the slides, I’m including segments from all three liturgical readings.

With mass shootings in California and Paris, on-going war in Syria, rising anti-Muslim rhetoric in the U.S. and a generalized sense of fear in the citizenry – it’s been a rough couple of months. One might be tempted to despair.

Instead, all three readings remind us to “rejoice!” as Christ has come, Christ is coming, and Christ is always and everywhere already here!
